Assistant Accountant
Location: Abu Dhabi
JOB DESCRIPTION: FREIGHT FORWARDING COMPANY
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling accounts payable and receivable
- Booking of payable invoices
- Supplier statement reconciliation
- Preparation of payment on time
- Receivable follow-up
- Handling day-to-day petty cash and reconciliation
- Preparation of VAT reconciliation and filing of return for an assigned entity
- Assisting the Chief Accountant when required
- Contribute to achieving department KPI targets.
- Coordinating with the suppliers and vendors
- Planning daily and weekly cash flow
- Posting entries and verifying suppliers accounts by reconciling statements and related transactions before preparing payments
- Follow up on implemented accounting and reporting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Additional duties and responsibilities
- Assist in external and internal audits.
- Attend ad-hoc requirements from management
- Provide cross-training to the department staff
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2. Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is an advantage.
Experience
Logistics and FFW payable experience (2 - 4 years)
Knowledge
Any sector – Logistics and freight forwarding sector experience is an advantage.
Skills
Assist ICV audit is an advantage
Work in ERP systems is a must
Should have some knowledge of MS Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required
ability to work with less supervision and put extra effort at work
