Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

The Financial Analyst reports to the Finance Manager and contributes to the delivery of the School Property Finance function with Te Pou Rangatōpū | Capital Investment and in conjunction with Corporate Finance. This role contributes to the financial reporting and compliance function to ensure financial transactions and obligations are correctly reported. It requires interactions with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. There is also a requirement to develop effective management information systems to support the planning, decision making and monitoring processes.

Mōhou ake | About you

You will have a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance and be working towards becoming/or is a Chartered Accountant (or equivalent qualification).

You will also offer:

  • Advanced excel skills
  • Effective communication and relationship management skills
  • Relevant experience in financial accounting and working in a complex organisation

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
