Overview of the role
Nyrstar Port Pirie is seeking an experienced candidate who has excellent organisational, time management and communication skills preferably relevant to the mining / metal manufacturing and heavy industry sector; someone able to translate project goals and objectives into manageable and trackable schedules.
The best part of this opportunity is that you will work in a dedicated team preparing project schedules with the Project Managers, and assist in detailed plans for shutdown works with the turnaround team.
This is a residential role, based in Port Pirie, South Australia on a Monday to Friday roster. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate if required.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor, analyse and report on project performance to schedule
- Recommend and implement modifications to improve effectiveness and attain project milestones
- Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members. Manage and own resource allocation plan and tools
- Oversee schedules provide deviations warnings hindering project results
- Identify changes in work scope in the project plan
- Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with all Project Managers to renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets
- Lead development of baseline schedule and support Project Manager (PM) in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR)
Qualifications/Experience & Abilities:
- Hands on experience on using project planning tool like MS Projects etc
- 1-5 years of experience working with project planning preferably in mining / metals or heavy industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Analysing Information, planning, attention to detail, informing others
