Job summary
Logistics Support Squadron (LSS) delivers logistic enablement in support of Typhoon aircraft for QRA(N) and Poseidon aircraft for Maritime Patrol and supports UK and Global operations.
Base Supply Flight (BSF) manages the accounting and issuing of equipment and stock to the six Flying Squadrons stationed at RAF Lossiemouth in addition to internal and external customer demands. The BSF contains around 60 personnel, 20 of which are Civil Servants.
BSF is recruiting for three Skill Zone 2 (SZ2) Storekeeper positions in Technical Stores (Tech Stores) and Ground Engineering Flight (GEF) Forward Stores.
The working pattern is based on a 37 hour week over a 5 day cycle, Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 12:00 and 12:30 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 13:00. This is subject to amendment with business need.
Job description
All the above advertised positions will work as part of a mixed team of RAF and Civil Servants in a shared office space.
All roles are responsible for ensuring equipment and stock are correctly received, stored and issued efficiently and accurately. The role holder must be able to manage their time effectively by prioritising workload.
Technical Stores x 1:
Working in a team of 5 personnel, the successful candidate will manage general stock husbandry within Technical stores in line with MOD policy requirements. This includes managing Valuable and Attractive equipment and bringing any stock anomalies to the attention of their chain of command. In addition to stock maintenance, the successful candidate will satisfy customer demands, process high priority paperwork and the returns of serviceable and un-serviceable equipment.
GEF Forward Stores x 2:
Working from the General Engineering Flight (GEF) Hangar in a team of 3, the successful candidates will be responsible for the accounting and control of all GEF equipment. The candidates will receipt items through Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI), liaise with contractors including Terberg and Schmidt to place asset demands and raise appropriate paperwork for Exercises and Operations.
The successful candidates will communicate daily with GEF engineers to ensure the database of equipment is up to date and process returns/disposals where appropriate.
Person specification
The ability to communicate effectively is essential as you will be engaging with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally.
You will require strong IT Skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 as well as the ability to work well in a team and independently.
Desirable skills: Previous store-keeping and Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) system experience
